VR Bridge Kit - 32ft Pier - Type A
From the beginning of the Victorian Railways, many bridges were built to a timber trestle bridge design of one form or another, along with many brick and steel bridges on mainlines. By the 1890s, the Victorian Railways had essentially standardized their bridge design, with minor changes occurring to handle heavier traffic.
This asset represents the standard 32ft pier, with 'Type A' bracing. This asset is designed for use with the 20ft deck and 15ft deck (including the gangway versions) splines.
This bridge kit represents the 15ft span and 20ft span bridges, including 15ft span with shunters gangways, along with a set of 6ft, 13ft, 23ft, 32ft, and 45ft piers of both 'type a' and 'type b' variants and a safety bracket. They are designed for use with the VR Bridge tracks, which form a correct height ballast fill in the deck, as per Victorian Railways standard. The kit also includes a range of 'fixed' bridge objects of various lengths for both the 15ft deck and 20ft deck, using the 'mesh-asset' tag and 'position' tag to configure the length of the bridge.
This kit is based on the kit by Jerker, with changes to better fit the VR plans that were not possible at the time of the earlier kit.
