This is a model of the VR Interlocked Gates that protected the Gafney Street level crossing at Pascoe Vale until about 1965, when they were replaced with Automatic Half Barriers as a consequence of the signal upgrading program between Kensington and Broadmeadows (from 2 Position ''Double Line Block'' to 3 Position ''A.B.S.'') that took place at that time. At the same time, the associated Signalbox was abolished. Although this asset is intended specifically for this use, it is perfectly suitable for use in a fictitious/freelanced ''VR '' themed route if a set of Interlocked Gates is required, where the road intersects with the railway at an obtuse angle of 108 degrees.
