This cab has been made specifically to be used with the SP U33C locomotives that I have created. This cab is not 100% accurate, but I think it is a reasonable representation of a GE cab for the U33C, and I hope that folks will enjoy it.
Model created in Blender 2.49.
Textures created in Photoshop 5.5.
This cab is still a work in progress. Future updates will add to what I have already done, and hopefully make it better and more complete for everyone.
Known issues:
1)- not all of the knobs / dials / lights are functional / animated. There are some things which just don't function as well as they could, or are simply decorative.
2)- clipping issues. The cab sunshades will 'flip' forwards and backwards, and sometimes this will allow you to have them positioned outside of the glass window of the cab. I know that this is not realistic, but I still have not figured out how to allow it to have the full degree of motion I want for when you rotate them over the operators positions, but with some sort of 'blocking boundary box' when they are trying to clip through the windows and cab walls. Again, this simply may not be possible within the current confines of the game, but if it is, it will be something that I can correct in the future.
3)- Sand lever is decorative only. You can push down on the sanding lever, but it does not actually cause the sanding to function. I have dug through the CCG and tried to figure out how to make this link, but I just can't get it worked out right now. So... for now you'll still need to use the keyboard (and your imagination).
There are certianly other things which can be improved upon, and those will be for future updates as time and inclination allow.
NOTE: this cab has been specifically textured for the SP U33C's. That being said, it is entirely possible to use the cab with U33C's of other railroads, but if you use this cab out-of-the-box from the inside you'll still see the SP body. The cab can be cloned, and with the swapping out of two of the texture files (u33c_main1.tga & u33c_main2.tga) to copies of those textures done for whatever railroad you desire you can create a specific cab which shows the correct body textures from inside. I will be posting a 'how-to' on how to do this at my Weebly site in the future for those who may wish to do this.
I will have repaint templates for this cab posted at my Weebly site, if you are interested in repainting this.
A big thanks to the following beta testers, without who's help this would not have come to fruition:
