Shuggie takes a mixed train from Elvanfoot up the valley.
- First - out of the engine shed and hook up with the carriages.
- Then, head for Elvanfoot Platform 2 - you'll have to let the Glasgow Express thunder through, on its descent from Beattock Summit.
- In Elvanfoot, wait for the stopping train; some passengers will need to transfer.
- Now , head up the valley. Enjoy the scenery!
- Lots of branch line possibilities? Like stop short of Leadhills - take the passenger coach into the Leadhills platform; return to the goods section, and take it on to Wanlockhead to unload the coal; reverse and load lead ore; shunt and juggle to get the guard's van on the other end; head back to Leadhills and juggle to pick up the passenger coach.
- And back down the valley to stop just short of Elvanfoot.
- With any luck, you should be able to pull the passenger coach into an Elvanfoot platform, to connect with the stopping service; return to the L&W Branch siding and park coach; then, haul the lead ore trucks into the Elvanfoot goods siding (for Graham to pick up); and join the goods vans and guard's van to the passenger coach - and back to the engine shed.
Any number of options for small scale branch line working, complicated at the Elvanfoot end by mixing with and juggling space between the mainline freight and express trains dropping from Beattock to head for the north - or the Lanarkshire coal heading south.
