The modern SEPTA Fern Rock Transportation Center was built by SEPTA in 1991 as a connector to the Broad Street Subway, in anticipation of the Railworks project of 1992 & 1993, which shut down the Reading side of SEPTA operations south of here. This station replaced a station of the same name located a quarter-mile north of it's current location. This station is located at the junction between the former RDG/PGN main line and the former Tabor Branch, which is now part of SEPTA's present-day mainline.
The model included here is one of four pieces: A static main station (kuid 481384:321456), a wide platform canopy spline covering the eastern platform (kuid 481384:321455), a narrower canopy covering the west platform (kuid 481384:3214551), and plaform lighting (kuid 481384:151511 - provided separately due to the fact that splines cannot currently display nightmode.)
