Perhaps no whistle sounds more musical and majestic than the shop-built three chimes used by the Pennsylvania Railroad. The 3 chime was the primary passenger whistle used by the Pennsy. Many freight locos, most of which usually had 1 chime 'banshee' whistles, were retrofitted with passenger-style 3 chimes around WWII. This whistle is actually a replica PRR 3 chime crafted by MD Whistles, now known as Rizzoli Locomotive Works. Probaby recorded at Cass.
