This Brake Van e-spec is setup with both Independent Brake for Handbrake and Airbrakes.
Notes: The reason why it's been setup like this is so the e-spec can also be used on none airbrake Vans or with locomotives that don't have airbrakes setup, in real life the Guard would apply the handbrake while the fireman applies the loco and tender handbrakes, the Gaurds also would apply the handbrakes on the downhills too with modern airbake trains as the brake pipe is being charge it'll provide slight braking.
