The National Theatre, formally known as the Royal National Theatre on Londons Southbank was built from 1963 to 1976, designed by the architects Sir Denys Lasdun and Peter Softley, the building is uncomprimisingly brutalist and draws a number of controversial opinions. But no matter what the opinion, it can be agreed the building is a very distinctive feature of Londons South Bank.
