Marylebone Station was opened in 1899, by the Great Central Railway as the terminus of it's mainline from Nottingham. It was the last major London Terminus to be built and for most of its existence, also the quietest. It survived numerous closure proposals, the most recent being a proposal in 1984 to turn it into a coach station. The formation of Network Southeast brought an extensive refurbishment program in the early 90s, to both Marylebone Station and the Chiltern lines thus securing its place in the future. This model is based on the original pre 90s refurbishment station, suitable for steam era until the early 90s.
