A single frame-mounted white lever that controls a single point or point pair mechanically via rodding. When the lever is pulled off normal, it will pull on the point rodding. The lever and frame design is based on those in use by New South Wales Government Railways in the early and mid 20th century.
The Edit Properties browser allows the user to select the junction operated by this lever.
The lever is normally operated by a signalman or safe-working officer (SWO) avatar (see the 'SWO Controller Rule' <kuid:368725:60021>). When the relevant avatar is active in the yard in which this lever frame is placed, AI drivers cannot control the points operated by the lever.
A naming convention must be followed to associate the frame, the junction controlled by the frame and the location supervised by the avatar. If the avatar is named '<location code>_SWO<sequence>' then the frame is named '<location code>_FRA_<frameID>' and the controlled junction is named '<location code>_<frameID>_1', or , in the case of a junction pair, '<location code>_<frameID>_1a' and '<location code>_<frameID>_1b'. An example of a valid localised name of this asset is 'MUR_FRA_H', where the asset instance is the 8th mechanical lever frame at location 'MUR'. The junction controlled by 'MUR_FRA_H' must be named 'MUR_H_1' (assuming it is not a pair).
Yard levers like this one can be disabled by a 'bracket lock' to prevent unsafe use. A bracket lock was fitted in line with the rodding by which the lever operated the points. When engaged, the bracket lock prevented the rodding from moving.
To disengage the lock, an officer had to obtain a key (in NSW most commonly an Annett key) released from the primary yard lever frame (usually Frame A located in a signal box) or from a 'releasing switch' controlled remotely from the primary frame.
