Catenary gantry and wire supports in use by NSWGR in the mid 20th century to serve a double track on the Sydney suburban, Central Coast and Blue Mountains lines.
The wire support is provided from the right-hand side of the relevant track and assumes a 12ft (3.658m) separation between track centres. Attach this trackside asset to the left track in the direction in which the double track is layed.
The height of the pickup wire above the railtop is 5.3m, midway within the NSW operating range of 4.75 to 5.8m. The gantry stanchions are 3.75m from the nearest track centre.
The model meshes are based on those in a workbook provided by David Owen (davido). Thanks to David for sharing his work.
