A wooden coal stage similar to that at Murrurundi loco depot in 1955 to service the banking engines stationed there. The stage was replenished by shovelling out of side-door open wagons using the 5 low-level mini platforms provided along the unfenced length of the stage.
Tranferring coal from the stage to loco tenders was also by shovelling from the main platform. This could be done from tracks on either side of the stage.
A train under AI control will unload a maximum of 5 4-wheel wagons and load a maximum of 4 4-wheel wagons.
