A one-room building, 10ft frontage by 12ft deep, provided by NSWGR for the storage of supplies required to maintain station and signal oil lamps. The contents included containers of lamp fuel (kerosene), lamp wick material and spare signal lamps. The walls and hip roof are clad in corrugated iron.
The lamp room was usually located on a station platform, away from the main building due to the flammable nature of the stores. Brick piers have been provided on the rear edge for cases where the lamp room projects beyond the rear of the platform.
