A compensator that allows attached point rodding to expand and contract with temperature changes without buckling or stretching the rodding.
A compensator was normally fitted midway along a long rod run so that the thermal changes in rodding length were equal on either side of the compensator.
Intended for connection with <kuid:368725:30063> 'point rodding, 2x, NSWGR'. 1 rod in this 2-rod run is compensated. In this case the compensator is oriented toward the uncompensated rod, which runs over it.
Where a compensator is to be fitted to the rod in <kuid:368725:30062> 'point rodding, 1x, NSWGR', use compensator <kuid:368725:20398> rather than this asset.
Where a compensator is to be fitted to 1 rod within the 4-rod run of <kuid:368725:30065> 'point rodding, 4x, NSWGR', transitions must be used on either side of the compensator. Use <kuid:368725:20303> 'point rodding transition, 4x to 2x2, NSWGR'.
