An animated facing point lock mechanism with an inverting crank operating in a clockwise direction.
Model based on a facing point lock in use on NSWGR in the mid 20th century.
Designed for use in conjunction with 'Protrack NSWGR' series as updated with release of <kuid2:368725:49000:2> 'Protrack NSWGR Mesh Library'. Place the lock asset between the tracks at a junction with the locking mechanism centred over the sleeper under the leading stretch bar. The crank should then appear secured to the second sleeper in advance of the sleeper with the locking mechanism.
Use rod spline <kuid:368725:30071> 'point rodding, no guide, 1x, NSWGR' to attach to the incoming side of the crank. The rod spline attaches from the left side of the track when looking from the crank towards the lock. The rod must push on the crank to cause it to pull the lock key to the unlocked position. Therefore the crank is inverting.
The animation does not operate automatically. The asset's script allows the animation to be operated by messages received from switch-operating assets such as <kuid2:368725:90029:12> 'Lever Frame, 1 to 5 levers, for avatar operation'.
The default position of the animation has the lock in the locked position. The crank must pull the outgoing arm connected to the lock in order to move it to the unlocked position.
