Garage Accessory Series BP Forecourt Sign Yellow Pole
A BP forecourt sign as fitted from the fifties up to 1966, the end of the period when Shell and BP worked as a combined retail force in the UK, although their demerger was a decade later. Although I have yet to find a coloured UK photo of this pattern of post, there are online examples of yellow poles in this pattern in BP stations in the USA and Europe, so I'm offering this alternative as I consider it highly likely that they would have existed in the UK, too.
