MAS Wicker Trunk load for Early Luggage Barrow - Acme Laundry Co.
Wicker trunks were a common means of goods transportation in the days before pallets, as their woven construction allowed a certain amount of air circulation. Common uses were laundry, sports kit, theatrical props costumes and foodstuffs. They had a unique rickety creaking sound when they were being moved, as the weave tended to open up with time, making them less stable.
This is a laundry version, with the company's name on each side, preset at the right angle and height to sit on one of my Early Luggage Barrows
