Miscellaneous Accessory Series Industrial Scales
The MAS series contains what would be known in Film/Stage/TV circles as 'set dressing' - smaller items added to the overall scene to give it character by adding details of an appropriate locale and period.
An essential feature of coalyards and many other industrial sites, this platform weighing machine is closely based on the Pooley's scales which still sit on the platform at Bridge of Dun station on the Caledonian Railway, from which I was able to take measurements as well as the photographs which provided the basis for the textures.
Thanks are due to fellow members of the Trainz Carriage and Wagon Works group who gently pressured me into searching out a prototype so that I could provide as accurate model as possible.
