WHR CNR RIB Crianlarich Running-in Board
The distinctive British Railways enamel running-in boards, with background colours according to their region might have been officially displaceed by their 'Modern Image'updates in the late 1960s, but Crianlarich is a long way from the administrative centre, and didn't necessarily follow directives to the letter. Light blue Scottish Region totem and running-in boards adorned the station well into the 1980s, even though nominally incorrect, with the title having become plain 'Crianlarich' with the closure of the other station in the mid 60s. The asset is set at the correct height for positioning in the middle of either side of the signal cabin, though further examples were to be found on the north end of the temporary station building and at the left side of the east face of the underpass entrance to the station.
