West Highland Railway Crianlarich Refreshment Rooms 1980s
Since there were no restaurant cars when the WHR was built, the Refreshment Rooms provided sustenance for travellers on their journey - it was even possible to order food ahead by telegraph. The building survived the fire which destroyed the adjacent chalet-style main building in the 1960s and is still in use as a cafe, with much of its custom now thanks to walkers tramping the long-distance West Highland way. The building has undergone considerable alteration over the years, and this version is based on photographs taken in the 1980s combined with my own research from visits. The old enamelled tin sign which lasted until the mid 1980s is availabla as a sepaarate asset. Model has nightmode and is LOD provisioned
