The Addington Water Tower in Christchurch, New Zealand, was built in 1883 to supply pressurised water for the Addington Railway Workshops. It is believed to be one of the largest concrete structures to be built in the world at that time. It has been preserved and the relocated Christchurch Railway Station and the Tower Junction shopping centre are now alongside. The Tower as supplied comes complete with animated pigeons, lighting and sound effects.
