WAGR GE WAGON Mesh by John_SB with textures and Updated to TRS12 working in T:ANE by Roland Bailey.

Standard track gauge

The GE class of over 2000 wagons was built between 1945 and 1951 by Midland workshops and Tomlinsons.
They were build in such large numbers in order to replace older, life expired wagons in classes G, GB and GC.

The Midland built wagons took random three and four digit numbers from written off wagons whereas the
Tomlisons built wagons were numbered in large blocks of newly issues (5 figure) numbers.

The M.R.W.A. also used this design as their class AE. Some of the M.R.W.A. wagons differed in that the
diagonal strapping was external rather than internal.

A new variant of the class appeared in 1949. These wagons were fitted with ridglepoles and classified GER.
At about the same time a lot of old GC class wagons which had been fitted with ridgepoles were written off
and I believe that the GERs were a direct replacement for these older wagons. Meanwhile production of the
GEs also contunued.
