This abandoned roundhouse and turntable are located on private property (no longer
railroad owned) at one side of the CP (formerly D&H) East Binghamton Yard in Conklin, NY. Originally
built by the DL&W (probably in the late 1800's early 1900's) and in daily use during the days of steam,
this structure has been empty and slowely disintegrating since the 1950's. The private owner attempted
to sell the facility to the D&H when they moved into East Binghamton yard in 1981, but the asking
price was apparently too high, so the D&H got NY state assisstance and built the new service facility
that remains at the yard to this day (and is presently used by CP). Created by request for the D&H
route being developed by ModelerMJ.
