You can see a demo of this lighthouse here: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwKKhQQBnFE) The Long Island Head Lighthouse is a white, brick, cylindrical, solar-powered lighthouse with a black lantern located on a small island off the coast of Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. The first Long Island Head lighthouse had to be torn down due to neglect as a lighthouse inspector found several signs of disrepair. The second lighthouse was a cast iron tower, one of the first of such lighthouses built in the United States. The second lighthouse was weakened by several storms, so it was replaced again with yet another cast iron tower. The third tower had to be torn down to make way for an expansion to the nearby Fort Strong as it was too close to the cannons, so the current cylindrical brick tower was built. The lighthouse was briefly deactivated in 1982, but the U.S. Coast Guard changed their mind and reactivated it in 1985. The lighthouse is equipped with a VLB-44 Solar-Powered LED Marine Beacon and at night, it flashes white every 2.5 seconds. There is another smaller VLB-44 Solar-Powered LED Marine Beacon mounted outside on the balcony that's used as a backup. There is no fog signal.
