ab Mitte der der 30er Jahre
wurde die E44 von der DRG als Lokomotive
fuer den Personen- und leichten Gьterzugdienst
beschafft.

Die in der DDR verbliebenen Loks wurden zur 244 umgezeichnet.
244 131-9 war bei der DR bis 1988 im Einsatz.
