Another model created in Google SketchUp and exported to Trainz with RubyTMIX. What really distinguishes Västerhejde church is the tower with stepped gables. One could easily believe that it is a creation of the Danish period 1361 to 1645. In fact, the stepped gables were added as late as 1856. Before this radical change, the tower was covered by a traditional pointy roof. The character of the Romanesque nave and apse suggest that the church was built in the early 1200s. A door on the south side of the chancel, which would usually be on the medieval church, was removed in a renovation in the 1860s and was replaced by a large window. The other interior are of the 1600s. Model made by Anton Torstensson.
