Recognizing a world first for Japan, this groundtexture is based on a close-up photo of asteroid Ryugu taken by the spacecraft Hayabusa-2 on 20 July 2018 before it successfully landed 2 Minerva II rovers onto its surface.
The texture becomes snow at map altitudes higher than the snowline setting.
