A static ship, the Ore Carrier Edmund Fitzgerald, 222 metres long, 22.86 metres beam. The vessel emits funnel smoke, the navigation lights, and windows light up at night. This model floats at 7 metres.
The Edmund Fitzgerald was built by the Great Lakes Engineering Works and launched on June 8, 1958. On November 9, 1975 the Edmund Fitzgerald was transporting a load of taconite from Superior, Wisconsin to Zug Island in Detroit, Michigan. The ship and the entire crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald was lost on the night of November 10, 1975.
The Edmund Fitzgerald foundered 17 miles from Whitefish Point and lies 530 feet beneath the surface of Lake Superior.
