Weathered reskin of Tom Youngs loaded BR BBA Steel Carrier

690 of these wagons were built at Ashford works between 1974 and 1980. Capable of carrying 75 tons of steel in coil, slab or ingot form, they were used across the country. Many were later fitted with transverse cradles to carry coils, making the loading and unloading easier.
