This is a faithful replica of the steel footbridge, as built by the VR, to span the yard and station precincts at Ouyen, on the Ballarat to Yelta line, in the early 1920s. Originally, the bridge was constructed, typically of timber, in the standard VR design with the exception of a central steel truss section. The aging timber was replaced with steel girder spans and piers, with the design of the 'down' side ramp and public access to the footbridge being modified from the original, in 1982 then again, in 1992 (for the 'Up' side ramp, in this case), although the central steel span remained intact throughout these changes. This model represents the footbridge as it existed after the 1982 modifications (but prior to the 1992 redesign). The asset is intended for Trainz builds 3.5 and above.
