SAR 313 Series First class end loading suburban carriage.
These First Class carriages were built in the early 1900s by the SAR Islington Workshops. Many were refurbished and painted green and cream as part of the South Australian Centenary celebrations in 1936.
Preserved examples can be found at the National Railway Museum at Port Dock; and the Silverton Tramway Museum at Broken Hill. SteamRanger maintains and operates preserved examples of these among other ex-SAR cars for it's Encounter Bay tours.
Many thanks to AndyN for his help with the interior and bogie details; and also with testing.
