Commonwealth Railways Second Class Sleeping Car BRB -
In 1952 the Commonwealth Railways imported two nine car passenger consists from
Wegmann in West Germany, for use on their Trans line between Kalgoorlie in WA
and Port Pirie in SA. The consist of each train (from the rear) was: first class
sleeper-observation car-ARF, two first class sleeping cars-ARD, lounge car-AFA, dining car-DC,
second class sleeper/lounge-BRF,two second class sleeping cars-BRB, and combination brake/power van-HRGA.
The total weight of the nine cars was approximately 440 tons.
The BRB is a Second Class Sleeper, and has eight four berth cabins.
