UPDATED version 2! The GP39 is a turbocharged GP38, but with a 12-cylinder engine, not 16. Only 21 were built, and C&O owned 20, using them with their 60 GP38's to replace GP7's and GP9's on mine runs, local freights, mainline coal drags, and through freights, but mostly the first three.
